VILLAGE
Village weaves are generally made in a more ordered
and symmetrical fashion. Their weave is generally finer than tribal rugs due to
the more settled lifestyle of a village weaver. There is greater availability
of dyes and more time for spinning of wools. City rugs, therefore, have a finer
weave and a more diverse colour palette. Village rugs, much like tribal rugs, are
angular and geometric, and also show the inspiration the weavers take from
their surroundings. You can often see the stylised representation of birds,
animals and mountain ranges.
