About the Company

It all started in 1952...

Jacques Cadry established Cadrys in Sydney, Australia upon his arrival in 1952 from his native Tehran Iran. Known as a pioneer of the rug trade in Australia and for his expert knowledge, passion and integrity. It was his infectious passion for the weavers art that has continued to propel generations of his family to continue to weave a journey of their own.

The Cadry Family

Today Cadrys is led by his Jacques son, Robert along with his sons, Ari and Jared Cadry. Having amassed Australia's largest collection of collectible, decorative and antique rugs of, Persian, Anatolian, Caucasian and European origin.

The company has since expanded from its original showroom in Edgecliff, Sydney and now hosts three retail showrooms, two wholesale showrooms and two distribution warehouses between Sydney and Melbourne.


Our classic showroom in Edgecliff, Sydney showcases a diverse collection of authentic classic rugs. Our Antique & Silk Collection gallery features masterpieces from the late 1800’s through to the late 1900’s. Additionally we have vast collections of an ever changing selection of classical, tribal and one of a kind rugs from Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey and Morocco.

Our contemporary showrooms located in Edgecliff, Sydney and Prahran, Melbourne are havens for architects, designers and their clients.


We hold exclusive distribution rights for leading designers such as Jan Kath, David Hicks, Tammy Kanat and Lila Valadan. Cadrys is also established at the forefront of contemporary rug design, with Cadrys Collections and collaborations with local designers.


Cadrys Contemporary produces ethically in Nepal and India. We are a proud member of GoodWeave, the leading authority for ending child labour in the production of handwoven rugs.
